About Hampton Estate

Hampton Estate is a small, privately owned 30 acre property situated near Gidgeannup in the Perth Hills of Western Australia.

Our olives and vines thrive in our Mediterranean climate with cool, wet winters and hot, dry summers just like the olives and grapes in the traditional European countries and are less susceptible to pests and diseases.

Our aim is to produce an individual range of high quality extra virgin olive oil and shiraz wine while we also look after our land.

Revegetation along the creek lines and around our beautiful spring- fed dam, mulching of the prunings, continued monitoring of our trees and vines, erosion control and efficient water usage allow us to work with nature in a sustainable agricultural system.

Our grapes and olives are hand -picked at the optimum time for flavour and are processed as soon as possible to ensure quality. We have recently grafted viognier buds onto 4 shiraz rows to allow us to produce a distinctive white wine and a shiraz / viognier. These wines should be available from 2012 / 2013.

Label Design

The grass tree was chosen to feature on our label as the area has an abundance of grass trees which we love. In addition, the local indigenous people knew the area as GIdjeejarnup and Gidgegannup means “ the place where spears are made”. One can see the link between the locality and spears on grass trees.
